Conditions We Treat

At Benchmark Physio, our experienced physiotherapists specialize in neck pain treatment and create personalized programs to help you achieve optimal recovery. We take into account your unique physical state, pain levels, and goals, and use evidence-based techniques and education to improve your mobility, reduce pain, and prevent future injuries. Our friendly team is dedicated to helping you reach your full potential, and we are accountable for providing you with the highest quality care. Let us help you overcome neck pain and get back to living life to the fullest.

Neck and lower back pain are common ailments that many people experience here in Singapore. Often caused by poor posture, stress, or physical injuries, neck pain can cause stiffness, limited mobility, and headaches, while lower back pain can cause discomfort, muscle spasms, and difficulty moving. Our team of experienced physiotherapists can help alleviate these symptoms through a variety of physiotherapy treatment methods, such as manual therapy, exercise programmes, and correction of postures. Through our tailored approach, we aim to reduce pain, improve mobility, and prevent future injuries.

Shoulder pain can cause discomfort and limited mobility. It can occur due to various factors, such as overuse, physical injuries, or underlying medical conditions. It is also increasingly common among those who are desk-bound and work long hours on their computer. Symptoms of shoulder pain may include stiffness, weakness, and difficulty in performing daily tasks. At our clinic, we offer a range of personalised physiotherapy treatment plans here in Singapore. Treatment may include manual therapy and exercise programmes to reduce inflammation and improve mobility. Our goal is to help our patients regain function and alleviate pain, so they can return to their daily activities pain-free.

Elbow pain can happen from overuse, strain or physical injury. You may feel tenderness, swelling, and stiffness in your elbow, and have difficulty in performing daily tasks. Our team of experienced physiotherapists specialises in treating elbow pain with personalised treatment plans to stretch the muscles and tendons of your elbow to promote flexibility. Strength and mobility can also be improved with elbow strengthening exercises.

Hip pain can occur due to misalignment, weakness or imbalance in the muscles, bones, and nerve structure surrounding the hips. Hip pain can vary greatly for each individual. At our physiotherapy centre in Singapore, we can effectively treat hip pain that may happen from arthritis, bursitis, tendinitis, hip fractures, and other injuries. Symptoms of hip pain may include sharp or dull pain, stiffness, limping, and difficulty performing simple tasks such as putting on shoes or climbing stairs. We believe in addressing the underlying cause of the pain rather than only treating the symptoms, and we will work with you on healing and strengthening the muscles around your hips.

Knee pain can affect individuals of any age and can be caused by injury or trauma, strain, or health conditions like arthritis and tendinitis which affects the knee joint. Some common conditions include patellofemoral pain syndrome, meniscus tears, and ligament injuries. Aside from surgery, physiotherapy is a highly effective treatment option for knee pain. Our clinic’s team of physiotherapists here in Singapore are highly trained to provide personalised treatments that will reduce pain, strengthen the area surrounding the knee and improve function.

We understand that ankle and foot pain can significantly impact your daily activities and reduce your overall quality of life, with symptoms like swelling, stiffness, pain when bearing weight, and limited mobility. These symptoms can occur from conditions like sprains, fractures, plantar fasciitis, bursitis, tendinitis, and even gout or flat feet. Ankle and foot pain needs to be treated correctly to avoid long-term chronic conditions. After getting a diagnosis, physiotherapy can be performed alongside any necessary medical treatment to strengthen and improve function and flexibility.

The decision to see a chiropractor or a physiotherapist depends on several factors, including the type of injury or condition you have, your personal preferences, and the treatment options available. Both chiropractic treatment and physiotherapy can provide effective benefits for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, but there are some key differences between the two.

Chiropractors typically focus on the spine and the nervous system, using spinal adjustments and manipulations to improve joint mobility, alleviate pain, and restore normal function. They may also use other techniques such as soft tissue therapy, exercise prescription, and lifestyle advice.

Physiotherapists, on the other hand, take a more holistic approach to treatment, using a range of techniques to improve mobility, strength, and function. Physiotherapy may include manual therapy techniques, exercise prescription, electrotherapy, and other modalities to treat a variety of conditions, including sports injuries and chronic pain.

Ultimately, the choice between a chiropractic treatment and a physiotherapy will depend on your individual needs and preferences. It's important to do your research, ask questions, and consider the options available to you before making a decision. In some cases, you may benefit from seeing both a chiropractor and a physiotherapist, as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.

Physiotherapy can be covered by insurance in Singapore in some instances. However, whether you’re covered and the level of coverage can vary depending on the insurance provider and the type of policy you have.

Before starting on a physiotherapy regime, you can check with your insurance provider to see if you have coverage. Some insurance plans offer comprehensive coverage for physiotherapy, while others may only cover a portion of the cost or have a cap on the number of sessions that are covered. You may need to provide a referral from a doctor or specialist, and you may also need to meet certain eligibility requirements in order to receive coverage.

Yes, physiotherapy can be worth the money for many people, especially for those who are dealing with injuries or conditions that affect their mobility, function, and quality of life. Physiotherapy can help to reduce pain, improve flexibility and strength, prevent further injury, and restore normal function to the body.

The cost of physiotherapy in Singapore can vary depending on several factors, like the type of treatment required, and the length and frequency of the sessions. However, many people find that the benefits of physiotherapy far outweigh the costs, especially when it comes to improving their overall health and wellbeing.

It's also worth considering the long-term benefits of physiotherapy. By addressing the root cause of an injury or condition and providing ongoing support and treatment, physiotherapy can help to prevent future problems and improve overall health outcomes over time.
